Attack on Revolutionary Forces

Jharkhand com. John Miran Munda, general secretary of  All India Krantikari Adivasi Mahasabhha (AIKAM) who as an young ACC cement factory worker of Chaibasa, mobilized the workers and led a number of heroic struggles for their rights. Besides he mobilized the local people against the mining mafia operating in the area on a large scale. So the ACC management, mining mafia with the connivance of local leaders of Congress, BJP and JMM got him arrested under trumped up murder charges. He is in Chaibasa jail for the last one year. His bail petitions are repeatedly rejected. His nomination for contesting last assembly elections was also rejected on false grounds.
The all India committee of AIKAM which met at Chaibasa organized a Dharna in front of the district collector on 26 June demanding the release of com. John and putting forward the various problems faced by the people in general and the tribal people in particular. The AIKAM has appealed to all democratic forces to raise their voice for the release of com. John and for fulfilling the just demands of the Adivasis.
Maharastra Com. Bandu Mesham, the Nagpur district committee member of CPI (ML) was arrested on 21st February on trumped up charges by police from his house that he is a Maoist, even after comrade showed the CPI (ML) literature, handbills and receipt books with him, repeatedly telling them that he is a member of CPI (ML). He is lodged in Chandrapur jail. In spite of repeated efforts the courts are resorting to a delaying tactics in giving bail to him. The CPI (ML) while continuing all legal and agitational methods to get him released has appealed to all democratic forces to raise their voice for getting him released from the jail and from the trumped up charges.
Kerala Com. Rathesh Kumar was an active member of RYFI and its Wynad district committee member. He had given leadership to many struggles against the contractors, land mafia and all other anti-social forces. He was active in the land struggle at Meppadi and neighboring areas also. Enraged by his activities local gang of anti – social forces got together and attacked him with lethal weapons while he was going alone to nearby town. Though people from neighboring areas took him to hospital, he could not be saved. CPI(ML) local committee and RYFI have demanded that the goonda forces who killed com. Rathesh should be arrested soon and the CPI (M) leader who sheltered them that night also should be arrested. All sections of people joined the condolences meeting organized at Meppadi. As the struggles led by CPI(ML) and the class mass organizations are developing including the struggle for capture of land in the district all vested interests are ganging together to attack party and mass organization activists.
