According to all available indications and the repeated statements of the finance minister, the central budget going to be presented within a week shall be yet another onslaught on the vast maees of people who are already suffering from ever-intensifying miserable conditions due to unprecedented price rise, unemployment and under-employment and commercialisation of all welfare and service sectors. The prime minister, who is an IMF nominee, and the Congress-led UPA government under his are acting with a vengence to paupersie the masses and to devastate the country in order to fatten the elite classesa dn the imperialist masters. Budget 2010-11: Ever Intensifying Neo-Colonialization Under Neo-Liberal Regim

he union budget presented by Pranab Mukherjee today is a package of policies that enhances the dominance of imperialist and corporate capital over the entire country and life of the common people. Its prescription under American pressure for laying red carpet for all brands of FDI through the “automatic route” is intended to integrate the country fully with the crisis-ridden imperialist world economy. The aim of issuing licenses to corporate monopolies for starting private commercial banks obviously is to undermine the very basis of public sector led Indian banking system, with its catastrophic consequences. Coupled with this the decision to mobilize more than Rs. 25000 crores from the disinvestment of PSUs under the guise of people’s participation in public sector is to destroy whatever left of the so called ‘state led development’ and put the speculative corporate sector at the commanding heights of the economy. Still more abominable is the   special provisions extended to SEZs in the name of export promotion in addition to the almost  Rs.2 lakh crore  concessions already granted to them since 2005.........» Read Full

Neo-Colonialism: The New Order of Imperialist Control: Shankar Das

The second half of the last century was full of events and a very significant period as well. The remarkable advancement that the international proletariat could bring about in the first part of the twentieth century could not be maintained in the second part when the class struggle intensified much more. When the capitalist roaders could seize the state power first in Russia and then in China too and subsequently captured parties shining with the glory of many past struggles, the capitalist class became overzealous to proclaim that socialism an effective alternative to capitalism. The alternative of capitalism is capitalism itself. On the other hand the world proletariat has been searching the cause of the defeat in order to explore the guideline to advance anew. Analysis of concrete situation is naturally an important task in accomplishing that. This is all the more true when we find that serious changes have taken place in the global economy and politics since the Second World War (WW II), imperialism—the enemy of the world people –has made changes in the mode of its rule and aggression and had been continuously doing so.
